#Jesus

“Crucifixion III,” ink on paper, 2015.
My strong interest in the origins of Buddhism and Christianity continues with a very personal interpretation of the crucifixion of Jesus.
Check out the motive of the eye in the center of the spider’s web in my short comic book story “Voyeur.”

“Enlightenment V,” ink on paper, 33cm x 22cm, 2015.
Here I go, drawing with ink again, my old favorite media. “Enlightenment V” is finally bringing Buddha and Jesus together, after I’ve represented them in a separate drawing and painting. I’ve had this idea before my well informed artistic child enlightened me about “Saint Oniisan” or “Saints Young Men” manga and anime. Now I’m a big fan of “Saint Oniisan.”

“Crucifixion II,” digital drawing, 2015.
Companion image to “Enlightenment IV.” Since the theme of this image is crucifixion, it only made sense for me to draw it in the same style as my M.A. art thesis “brokenFixed,” which I’ve based upon images of crucifixion and resurrection. I haven’t been drawing in this style in years, and this is the first drawing in this style I’ve created digitally, not with pen and ink. More to come!

“devil One,” chalk on paper, 2000.

“Crucifixion,” acrylics and chalk on panel, 2003.
